Nothing to do so just post on our Malaysian shuttler. Well, yesterday Lee Chong Wei, our no. 1 shuttler in Malaysia won gold against Bao ChunLai, a Chinese dude from China. There were a lot of supporters from China supporting him until I started asking myself whether these people so free until they are able to go all the way to France for 4 days and support them. Maybe the government gave them 4 days off for this competition to scream their lungs out and support the team. We Malaysians..haha..the whole match I only saw 3 supporters with just a Malaysian flag. I guess the others are busy preparing for major examinations and holidaying.
This was the supporters in Sudirman Cup 2005. They were the home crowd, so quite a lot. I think Malaysians rather stay at home and watch the match on television.
Anyway, the thing that caught my attention was the commentator stating Chong Wei as the Malaysian, rather than the Chinese. It's like somehow people don't see him as Chinese, but rather a Malaysian. That was quite wowing. During interview, his mandarin was much much horrible to such an extent that I understood what he was saying but he knew how to speak BM. Everyone does, no matter whether you're a Malaysia fanatic or a dude who just wants to get out of this country. I guess this is what Malaysia is- different skin colour and yet recognized as one.
