You Know...

The famous phrase uttered by Peter Parker's uncle, Ben Parker? For those who don't know, Peter Parker is Spider-Man, not some parking dude. Back to the point, in the 1st movie, when Peter was acting strange (and a bit rude), then Ben took hold of Peter, looked him in the eye, and said the famous line,

"With great powers, comes great responsibility."

Inside his mind, "Sob, sob. This is going to be my last line before I die in the movie."

It was certainly the line that got everyone's hair standing up and inspired when they heard him say that. Of course, Peter was busy thinking of wrestling so he didn't really listen. Well, to be honest, I did some thinking when I thought of the line.

What power do I have?

What responsibility do I have?

I then realised I really did have a power. The power of not being able to smell smelly things. I've learned something from this movie. Yes, with my power of not being able to smell smelly things, I shall take it as a responsibility to do the thing very few have done.

MBMB... Here I come.

Great responsibility. Seriously.

Find your power. Take responsibility.

This post is not intended to offend anyone.

The Difference...

Between how a top-scorer and normal student react when getting an 'E' in a subject.

Top-Scorer - "I see my report card hor, A, A, A, A, then suddenly one 'E' leh! So ugly!

Normal - "Hey, look! I got a Royal Flush! A, B, C, D, E!

Royal Flush is where you get 5 cards with same
shape and increasing number. E.g, Spades 1,2,3,4,5.

I'm So Glad...

My mom is back! Haha, she was back pretty early and we chatted a lot as a family that night. She didn't really enjoy her trip, but I think she did enjoy being away from house chores. I found out the 1st day I washed the clothes wrongly. Didn't use soap powder but a powerful acid which, according to my mom, is able to make a hole in clothes. Haha, so glad nothing bad happened. All in all, it was a fun 4 days and I really learned to appreciate her more. Moms rocks! If you see your mom passing by, give her a thumbs up and say:

"Mom, you rock for all you've done! Especially the housework and raising a good kid!"

Day 3 Was...

Definitely the most tiring day. Woke up at 7 to sweep and mop almost the whole house. Whether clean or not, not very sure. I can't really tell the difference between a mopped floor and a non-mopped floor, feels the same. Anyway, went badminton at 10, came back at 1, went sushi king at 1.30 and arrived at 2.00. Adrian and Yen deserved to be mentioned here because they waited quite a long time. So, thanks guy and girl! It was funny hearing the conversation between them and this sushi lady who was in charge of seating people. They were talking about throwing shoes at those who should have left but didn't. Actually, it would have been more wise if they passed the shoe to those behind. I bet they were even more impatient than us. Fortunately for everybody, Hwei recited a poem that directed our impatience away, or to her. Goes something like that.

Patience is virtue,
Virtue is grace,
Put them together and you have a pretty face!

Was super tired when I got home and immediately fell asleep. Woke up for dinner and then went to prayer meeting. Everybody seemed sick and the sneezing sound thingy could be heard all the time.

On a side note, there were a only a small number of people in prayer meeting for the 1st 15 minutes or so. Uncle Tony was the chairman and he said:

"I think today very little people because it's holiday."

Shouldn't the attendance be more if it's holiday?

Day 2 came...

A little bit late, but anyway, here's Day 2. Did nothing much except fold some clothes. There are still some clothes to be taken in but to confirm they are REALLY dry, I decided to leave them be for another night. Moon reflects the Sun's rays as well you know?

It's Not Related...

To the other posts, but more people seem to dislike me in school now. Even my close friend. I thought it was just me being paranoid when he talked less to me, but turned out my other friends also felt the same way. During lunch, he didn't even look at me and only answered me with a few words. Don't know why. That's the sucky part. It pays to be too handsome I guess. So, for young boys out there, be handsome in moderation.

As Requested By...

One, but thought by many, I shall give a summary of today's Day One. I went to the washing machine wanting to wash the clothes. When I opened the cover, there was no water inside. I was shocked because previously when my mom used it water was always present. I thought of taking pails and pouring the water inside, but then I didn't remember seeing my mom walking back and forth the toilet taking pails after pails. So I called her to ask how to do.. Haha. 1st day then need help d.

It seems you press something then water will come out by itself. The water was pouring in, but I didn't know where the softener and the other thing goes in so that took another half-hour. When it was washing, I was so worried that I might screw up somewhere and the clothes would have become other people's clothes. Like black clothes become white and white to black and the red would mix with some colour to produce green. It didn't, but some of the clothes were not as wet as I thought it should be. It gives you the feeling that some of them can be put under the fan for 30 minutes then they would dry.

I asked dad what to do and he said "Never mind wan la!" Oh ya, I forgot, there are no girls in the house. After hanging the not-so-wet clothes, I tried ironing clothes. Dad taught by ironing a shirt. There were a line or two left on the shirt and I was like, "No need to get rid of the lines meh?" He replied, "Aiya, no need so detail wan la!"

I struggled with the clothes... a lot. My dad say I iron like never iron like that. Oh well, at least I tried, so 100 points for the effort. By the way, it's not 7 days, my mom will be back by Thursday. Nevertheless, 4 days is still long... very long.

As always, there are lessons to each summary. What I learn today is not to be so detailed. It was gained through words of wisdom by my father.

I Will Be...

A houseman tomorrow. Some may say I'm still too young to call myself a man, but it's my blog, so just read on. Gotta explain the story 1st, so just sit tight and read. It started on a day when my mom told my dad that she was going to Hanoi, Vietnam with her colleagues. She did almost all of the housework, so it was understandably why she was worried to leave the house to 2 man and a boy, who were the ones giving her work, for one week. My dad replied,

"Go ahead, dear!"

There was so much energy from that 3 words. He said with such confidence that could move mountains. My mom's was also convincing.

"Sure or not??"

It was same. Energy and confidence that could make mountains afraid to move. Heh, I'm sure when my father said that, he had me on his mind since I'm the only one doing a little bit of the housework. Reminds me of the Reedemer, Saviour, Friend song.

"I know you had me on your mind
When you said, 'Go ahead, dear!'"

So that's what happened. My mom's leaving tomorrow for a week. I was already taught how to wash the clothes, boil the water and prepare breakfast for Ken and myself. I predict an amazing 7 days about to come.

I Went To...

Franciscans Night. Went for the sake of meeting old friends, not the performances. Got to know from some SFI people that it was lousy. Met Andy Mau there as well. When I was there, I remembered an idiom or line or whatever that goes something like this:

"You only miss something only after that something is gone."

You all should know why I recall that line right? Originally a St. Francis primary student, I went to GBS instead of St. Francis secondary, and it's been 5 years since then. So yeah, the line does come naturally. Goshies...

My friends must have missed me so much for the past five years!
