When Schools Follow Weird Quotes

"It's better to be a has been than a never was"

Hmm.... when I first saw this quote, I was frowning. "How the heck did this quote get so famous?" My first impression of the quote was like you're trying to console yourself by saying, "Hey dude, it's okay! At least you were a has been!" Turned out sis' explanation was like bombarding another person by claiming he/she was never what you accomplished. Probably GBS noted this quote when they had to think of a motto for the school. They're not practically "The Better School" and the grammar is already wrong in the motto. "How can you be better than the best?" was Hwei's reason for the bad grammar. They might be the better school last time but certainly not now. Hence, the quote! Perhaps the better quote should be,

"It's better to be a still is rather than a has been"

Now all I have to do is hope some famous dude look at my blog and popularize this quote.

Lame Stuff

Just thought about it during Sports Day.. I'm gonna borrow Hwei's name even though I don't have the copyright :) .

Me: Hwei, you're a liar.

Hwei: Har?

Me: The moment you say you are pretty, then you're lying.

Hwei: (With the -_- look) But I didn't say I'm pretty woh.

Me: Tau pun.

Warning: Never use this on your boyfriend/girlfriend. The chances of losing him/her is very high.

More reasons why we should learn English

It was during Physics class and the teacher wasn't very fluent in her English. She likes to put 'S' at places you shouldn't put and it is really obvious she needs English classes.

Example one: She told us, "If you late pass up your book, then I'll chop you leg" Wow.....chop my leg if I pass up late? Turned out she meant 'late' instead of 'leg' and she continued, "If pass up late some more, then I'll chop both you leg".. I think she wasn't joking at all eh?

Example two: She was giving us a Chinese proverb that meant something like do not look at someone's outward appearance only, because the person might be talking bad about you at the back so look at both sides. It was alright and stuff, but when she translated it to English, it was, "When you look at people, must look at people's backside". Oh my, I couldn't keep my mouth closed after that statement, literally. It became the phrase of the day for me after that, looking at people's backside! Anyway, not sure what other interesting words she gonna come up with... Physics as Psychic? Nononono, I meant sai-chick.

Happy CNY!

We've all been waiting for this- the day where it's not wrong to go out becoming a parasite to every family. It's Chinese New Year! Anyway, any resolutions for CNY? We have resolutions for the 1st new year but normally CNY we normally have targets at getting the most ang pau rather than improving ourselves and stuff but hey, CNY improves us financially right? So the 1st new year is to improve ourselves physically and mentally while the 2nd one is for financial purposes. Whoever planned it is really really good! Anyway, happy CNY to all of you out there! Be sure to share your money with me!

What is mine is not yours, but what is yours is mine.

LG Squared

Geez, it's been long since I updated this blog. Form 4 life isn't as easy going as most people told me. Anyway, my English teacher gave us a passage about this girl who grew up listening to her mom's advise. I personally felt the passage was good, and then very good when the mom gave another advise, 'Let go, and let God'. To me, it was like 'wow, that's so true!' We as christians really have a God who guides us and bears our trouble if we let Him. My friend who was sitting beside me could not understand the meaning of the advise because his relationship with his God isn't anywhere near our relationship with the God who sent His son to die on the cross for us! I explained to him the meaning and he went, "got like this wan meh?" How blessed we are to have a God who listens to us and have a Father-Son relationship rather than a God-Human relationship and yet sometimes we abuse this privilege. Nevertheless, He's still there to help guide us when we're weary and keeps us going throughout the day! Other people do not share the same privilege with us where God carries them up when they fall or takes away their pain so always proud to have a great God. So every time you feel down or depressed, keep your head up, Let go and Let God.
