Did You Watch...

The match between Manchester United and Chelsea last night? I'm not talking about my sis and her roommate but the actual clubs. Well, Man U won the game 3-1, but the game was interesting not because 4 goals were scored, but the amount that weren't instead.

One fell when wanting to score.

One slipped while taking a penalty kick.

One keeper running to the opponent's goal only to realise he was at the wrong side.

But the greatest of the miss belonged to Fernando Torres. He rounded the keeper very well and was actually one-on-one with the goal! At first sight, I thought he was going to score but he missed. I was more flabbergasted, blabbergasted, dumbfounded, smartunfounded than being happy he didn't score. Click here for the miss.

Anyway, I just pity him for the miss. He was playing well up until that point. As a striker, your job is to score. Rounding off the keeper is a bonus but the core you must fulfill. And sadly, he missed the target.

It's just like a student preparing for the exam only to realise the exam was 2 months ago and he missed it.

It's just like an accountant missing an obvious number and the accounts come up with a huge mistake.

It's just like a lawyer getting her files ready for the big trial and upon walking in the court with brimming confidence, realises she's in the wrong court and missed the right one.

How sad indeed.

Ah well, I checked the dates and phew, STPM ain't 2 months ago!

Only He Knows

Just read a blog of a friend of mine. Always seemed so cheerful, but that blog had none of it. I guess people often put up a brave front but inside, they're just hurt and shattered. If not for that blog, how am I to know?

I suppose only God knows, and hence the only One who can help. It is comforting to know God does help through us friends.

I Was Like...

'Woah, you're that fat already?'

No, I'm not saying any girl is fat or anything, but Ronaldo!

And no, not Cristiano Ronaldo.
If he's fat, we're all doomed.

I'm talking about the Brazilian Ronaldo. Yeah, he was awesome and stuff. Won 2 World Cups and holds the record for most goals scored in World Cup with 15 goals! He was fit at that time and had speed and strength!

Glory days!

Yeah, but look at him now. T.T

I DON'T WANNA BE LIKE THAT!

"Shaun, What hair to cut?"

When my sister asked me this, I thought,

"Hmm, Commando hairstyle maybe? Or what about bald, or go wild with mohawk?"

And then I remembered, it's my sister.

And I sighed.

I don't know any female hairstyle la.

I Got...

Called by the teacher to stand beside him today. As I saw my classmates going back to class after quad, I wondered on what basis I was held for. I was about to say Habeas Corpus regardless whether it was relevant or not when he said:

Boy, your hair too long already.

And I was like,

Eh? Sir you call this long ar?

And he went,

Oh, not the hair, just the sideburns actually. Go and cut yourself ya.

And I thought to myself,

But dude, I like just cut my hair last February wei!

I feel insulted.

Nae.

My growth hormones feel insulted.

The teacher is blaming them for producing hair at a very high rate.

Oh, how my hormones long for justice!

I Just Can't...

Help but post about this. Some of you may know my friend, Seon Fei. He attended MGC once. He's a dude from Yong Peng. Ya, a place famous for its fish balls. My teacher says it's so good it can bounce around and be used as a Ping-pong ball.

Anyway, he is a very quiet dude, but can be very funny in his own special way. My class was planning to give a birthday surprise for my two classmates this Tuesday. Of course, for it to be a success, the two victims were not supposed to know anything about it. That should already be a known fact. But this Yong Peng dude here did something so funny you can't get angry with him but just say, "Well, that's Seon Fei to you!"

He went and tell one of them that she was gonna get a surprise party.

She doesn't believe him because she thinks it's just plain dumbness to break it out to her that she's gonna get a surprise party. And especially when it hasn't happened.

Fact is, he's that dumb. In a good way. :D

Anyway, she asks why does he tell her if it's true?

He says...

"Sooner or later you also will find out about it mah."

Classic, don't you think?

He's the dude on the top right! Photo from his Facebook.

Fernando Torres...

Has moved to

CHELSEA!!

Instead of being one of the many livers in a pool, he has now become a gel in the sea! I was a bit surprised by the last-minute transfer news, but oh well, I guess they do grow money on trees. This transfer has received criticism from the fans because they feel he has turned his back on them. I don't really care, since I'm a Man U dude, although it's understandable why Torres would want to leave and the fans are angry.

My sis says he's not handsome. I think she hasn't seen Wayne Rooney yet. Hmm.

Nevertheless, Torres could have made some fans forgive him by saying some nice things in the press. But noooo, he didn't! He said,

"This is the target for every footballer - to try to play for one of the top clubs in the world and I can do it now. I have to be very, very happy as I am..."

That big dong! He should have said,

"This is the target for every footballer - to try to play for one of the other top clubs in the world besides Liverpool and I can do it now. I have to be very, very happy as I am.

We Had...

A Formative Test today. It's just a simple test to test us on what we've learned for the past month. It was all good...

Except PA.

I kinda screwed it up. Instead of drawing the right graph, I panicked and drew the wrong one. What's ironic is I can say assuredly that I have done the most exercises on PA graphs, and yet, I was the only one who screwed up. And technically, it's my second screw up on the same part. Oh the horror!

Lesson learned - Homework is like drugs. You take too much of them, you get an overdose, and you die. Likewise, too much homework and exercises are bad.

From today onwards, I shall minimize my homework and do only the minimum! Whee!

Ahahaha

Look at my chatbox. She just comes and says peace.

Find that quite amusing actually.

It's like you're just walking like any ordinary day, and out of un-ordinari-ness, someone passes by and says, 'I'm a walker, peace.'

I think besides shouting 'stalker' and whacking that person, the other alternative is to just laugh about it. So,

hahahahaha!

Her link is about getting muscular.
Eh, what you trying to imply about me ar?

Malaysia...

Won the AFF Suzuki Cup!!!

They were playing more defensively in the second leg as compared to the first leg, but hey, they did well anyway! And I believe that Safee Sali was awesome too. His header in the first leg was so fast, totally opposite to the monorail in Malacca! Then in the second leg, the through pass was so accurate while the power of his shot was just so great, even Stephen Chow from Shaolin Soccer would be proud of it!

Oh ya, he didn't really know what to do after accepting the award. But hey, we still love you dude!

Anyway, because of their achievement, we're getting a holiday tomorrow! But students like me are unaffected since we're already on holiday. And that means teachers also. Wouldn't that be unfair to us? Well, I sure hope the government would realise this fast and change the holiday to next Monday when school ACTUALLY starts.

I just hope that there'll be many cups for Malaysia to take part and win, so that we'll have plenty of holidays. Whee!

I Am An...

Opportunist!

What is an opportunist you might ask. Well, in layman's terms, an opportunist is a person, who, when accidentally falls into the river, says,

"What the heck? Oh well, I'll take a bath anyway!"

And no, I'm not that person who fell into the river! But yeah, I think I am something like that.

Case in point: I was supposed to wipe the windows using old newspapers.

Doing my work so enthusiastically.

But then, being the opportunist that I am, I...

Read the papers too.

A Cover For...

Tong Hua just came out. It's the famous Chinese song by a Malaysian, Guang Liang. YES! It's a Malaysian! He's doing quite well in Taiwan for his songs as well as in acting. But Tong Hua, which means Fairytale, is the song that propelled him to Infinity and Beyond (Not so la, since he's only famous in Taiwan, but in keeping up with the Buzz Lightyear mood, infinity and beyond!).

There're two dudes who did the cover for this song. They translated it to English, and re-sang it. Actually, I did my own translation of the song a few years back already so it was kinda interesting to know someone did it too. Their translation is a bit different from the original one while mine is just plain Malaysian-ish and ignoring grammars.

Their version
Don't know how long
It's been a while since
You told me your favourite story
It's been on my mind
Driving me crazy
Am I the reason that you're crying now?!
I see the tears in your eyes
They tell me you don't believe
That I can't be your Prince Charming
Maybe you can't understand
But when you said you loved me
My life was changed and I wish you could see

Chorus:
I'm willing to be The One
And the angel that you love
With open arms
I'll always be there
You must believe
That you and me will end up happily
In our own fairytale story

My version

Forget how long d
That I heard about
The story you like to tell me wan
I thought very long d
Starting to forget
Is it me again who did something wrong?!
You cry and say to me,
"Fairytale is bluff people wan
Impossible you are my prince"
*I don't know how to translate this line haha*
The stars in my sky are twinkling liao loh

Chorus:
I want to be
The angel you like in the fairytale
Spread out my arms
Become bird wing protect you
You must believe
Believe that we will be like the fairytale
Bahagia and awesome ending.

The chorus was by Hwei's GLO mates actually. That's what made me want to do the entire translation in the first place. I guess you can't use my version to woo girls, because they'll woosh away. Ah well.

By the way, I just realized the only line we have in common is,

You must believe.

Readers!

You must believe!

That the only line we have in common is 'You must believe'!

You can check out their version here.

This Is Funny!

A conversation between two footballers on Twitter. One is Rafael Van der Vaart while the other is Wesley Sneijder. They're good buddies but tonight will be playing against one another. Their sarcasm is just so hebat!

Sneijder: I'm cleaning the Champions League trophy with a Tottenham(Van der Vaart's team) shirt.

Van der Vaart: Thanks for cleaning it up for me. I'm already creating space in my cup cabinet.

Sneijder: We're gonna give you a football lesson in London.

Van der Vaart: I met your defence in Milan, it didn't look good. It was like cheese with holes in it.

Sneijder's team scored 4 goals against Tottenham in the first match (although Tottenham later scored 3 back in the same match) so...

Sneijder: I found a good goalkeeper on eBay. Shall I send you the link?

Van der Vaart: We don't need him, because you won't come into our penalty area!

Van der Vaart: Hey, I wanna be part of the pic too!

My Friend Said...

That when you wake up at 4 a.m to study, it's easier for you to remember stuff. I gave an unconvinced look. Could it be? Like how Uncle Dexter puts it, wouldn't that time be The Battle of The Eyelids?

Nevertheless, taking my friend's idea seriously, I put my alarm to ring me up at 4 in the morning.

At 4, it rang.

At 4.01, I turned it off and went back to bed.

Happy Belated Birthday...

To Malaysia! You're now 53 and still single! Congratulations!

Come, Let's...

Learn a new word today! The word is....

"Overkill!"

Now before you close this link because you don't want to learn this violent word, I assure you, it's not! Although 'overkill' is used more often in games, but actually there are other places where this word can be used too!

To start off, 'overkill' basically means 'to do something excessively'.

In gaming terms, it's like your enemy is already dead, but you keep using your ultimate power, giving the enemy no peace even in death, thus overkill. That's when people say, "Overkill la wei!"

The word 'overkill' can also be used in education. For example, when a teacher asks a student where in the History Book does it state that Malaya was under British Colony, the student replies, "Chapter 4, Form 3 and Form 4 textbook, page 40 and 60 respectively, paragraphs 3 and 6, lines 4 and 16." Mind you, that's when the teacher says, "Overkill la wei!"

Well, if you're still not convinced, 'overkill' moments happen in the Bible as well. 2 Kings 9:32-37(NIV) says:

He looked up at the window and called out, "Who is on my side? Who?" Two or three eunuchs looked down at him. "Throw her down!" Jehu said. So they threw her down, and some of her blood spattered the wall and the horses as they trampled her underfoot.

Jehu went in and ate and drank. "Take care of that cursed woman," he said, "and bury her, for she was a king's daughter." But when they went out to bury her, they found nothing except her skull, her feet and her hands.

They went back and told Jehu, who said, "This is the word of the LORD that he spoke through his servant Elijah the Tishbite: On the plot of ground at Jezreel dogs will devour Jezebel's flesh. Jezebel's body will be like refuse on the ground in the plot at Jezreel, so that no one will be able to say, 'This is Jezebel.' "

Get my point? Now we know that 'overkill' is a universal term and does not necessarily mean violence!

Anyway, got one more example to help you understand this word better.

The dude who pumped petrol for my car 'overkill-ed' la wei!

I Learnt...

Some good phrases today. One of which was,

"People don't care how much you know(Bout God's love) until they know how much you care."

And also Unc. Rodney saying that trials and testing times are like tunnels.

"When you're in a tunnel, there doesn't seem to be a sunlight, but you do know the sun is there shining. Only after you reach the end of the tunnel do you see the sunlight and say, "Sunlight!""
The 'sunlight' part I ownself add wan.

"Likewise, when we're going through trials, God doesn't seem to be there to help us, but actually He is. Only at the end of our problems do we realise God was there all this while, helping us."

Awesome lots? Heck, I can even come up with good phrases.

"Faith is believing without sight. Even without the mirror, I believe I'm awesome-looking."

How I wish for the weekend to come faster. Now I have to focus 100% in school and that ain't so fun!

I'm Now...

An official MHS student! Finally I got to transfer to MHS, and finally I managed to change to the Arts stream. It's taken me a long time, but still so thankful for the transfer.

It's a little sad though to know that class ends at 3.00p.m everyday except Friday. My friend told me we were going back early for today because the teachers had a meeting. I was thinking probably 1.20p.m or something, and she told me it was 2.20p.m. I went like, "EH? GBS always finish at 2.00p.m woh!"

And recess is at 12.00p.m instead of 11.00a.m! My stomach was rumbling so much I thought WWE wrestlers were having Royal Rumble inside!

Aiyo, I seem to be complaining a lot. That ain't good! Anyway, I like the classes. Although Business started out a little blur for me, but in the end it was interesting. Economics was fun too. The graph thing and the logic. Oh the logic! Something Science seem to lack sometimes. Hopefully I'll continue to understand to continue to enjoy the classes, haha. All in all, just thankful. Whee!

Would like to thank those who prayed
for me and offered an ear to listen. Thanks!

It's Me Again!

I shall blog to maintain the policy of every month at least a post. That way I can at least get 12 posts per year. So if I continue this policy, I'll have 120 posts in 10 years! That is superly superbly superb!

Anyway, the transferring to arts stream is a little bothering. Currently, I'm in the Science stream and I want to go to the Arts stream. I sent in the application and of course, it got rejected (or I wouldn't be writing this). My mom and I went to appeal to the Bridge and the lady said the decision was final. My mom asked if there was any other way so that I could get to Arts, she said,

"See first your monthly results. If not very good only the group of panel will reconsider changing you."

If put in a more direct and blunt way,

"Boy, you fail first your science papers only we see whether you're suitable for Arts okay?"
Absolutely no offence to Arts students.

Didn't know what the phrase "Failure opens many future paths" meant until that day. According to the lady, the group of panel are super experienced in Form 6 and know each student. Biggie problem is they haven't even done an interview on those wanting to transfer! For the benefit of the doubt, probably they are some Yoda-like group who have the 'Force' with them and can foretell futures.

Fail Science you shall first, then succeed in Arts you shall.

Hi...

Again! It's been a while since I last blogged. The thing is I was kinda busy with stuff. Maths workload in Form 6 feels as heavy as when I carry Ken to the bed, or maybe more. My classmates are fun people though! No cliques, so it was easy to mix and chat with them.

I'm gonna dance in the opening ceremony for the Malaysia Games, or SUKMA! I decided to join because of the chance to appear on TV. Haha, awesomeness! But practice schedule is kinda tiring. The ceremony will be on this Saturday so everyday it's like practice from 6 to 11. But most of the time we only sit and wait, or stop and stare, thinking we're moving to dance but we go nowhere, then when it's finally our turn to dance, it'll only be a maximum of two times.

Sometimes, I ask myself why I chose to join this, knowing the busy schedule and all, but like my sister said, "Cost of fame, Shaun."

Oh well, for fame it is then. I'm standing on the fourth from the front so I'd probably get lots of camera time. Wheee!

The only disappointing thing is that I'd have to put on some make-up. If you tune in on Saturday and see someone throwing up due to the make-up, then it'll most likely be me. Looking at the positives, more camera time. Wheee!
