Thinking

How do you determine when is the time to give up and stop believing or to continue to hope? It's like either being realistic or just not having sufficient faith in something. Here's an example.

Manchester United loss 2-1 to Chelsea. They were behind Chelsea by 4 points with 4 games to go. Do we become realistic and say,

"Well, the season is over."

or do we continue to hope, saying,

"The season's not over yet!"

Is it considered lack of faith to say the season is over at this point or being unrealistic to not say the season is over?

Football certainly brings out the philosopher side of people, or at least me. It's more than just 22 men chasing after a ball.

It's 23. We haven't added the referee.

There's Something...

Funny going on in my driving lessons. My instructor often cancels classes. Like 5 times already? To a certain extent I understand what Hwei was going through when she blogged about going to class at 8 and finding out there isn't any.

I get up at 8 to prepare myself and at 8.55 I'm ready to go. Class starts at 9. At 9.15 I'm sitting on the sofa watching shows. I message my instructor asking if he's coming and he just messages back saying he's busy and sorry. Well, at least he's sorry! I don't mind it as much as Hwei because I'm kinda free right now and after watching a show for 15 minutes, I'd like to see it to the end haha.

Having said that, it's weird how the instructor normally cancels class instead of the student. The world is changing, people. Mark my words; it's changing!

Probably next time I'll be teaching him how to drive. Possible possibilities.

I Was Wondering...

Why do people normally write 'sincerely' at the end of the letter before the signature?

It's like,

*A whole bunch of words in the letter*

Honestly,
Shaun.

or

Seriously (it's me!),
Shaun

or

Not joking (it's really me!),
Shaun

After Reading...

Hwei's blog and all the 'publicity' she's getting, I scrolled through my blog and found the post I wrote about Paul Scholes. And I thought,

"CRAP! Is Paul Scholes going to sue me for defamation or something?"

SPM Results...

Came out last Thursday. I didn't have much time to blog about it because of the DMSJ quiz so that's why this post comes out today.

Well, I didn't get straight A's but I'm happy with what I have. Of course getting a full A's is great, but 9 out of 11 works quite fine for me too. Maybe I'm just a guy who's easily pleased. Yep, you give me a PSP also I'll be happy already. Or an MU shirt. Or a ticket to MU stadium. Easy to buy stuff for me right? I give options liao.

Anyway, it was good to see friends who got full A's go up the stage and receive the certificate. Seeing them so happy makes me happy too. Somehow you just can't cry over not being on the stage while you're busy cheering your friends up the stage.

There were some who cried although their results were quite good. Not sure whether tears of joy or agony though. I didn't! I think I could accept my results better than anyone else because of God. Was praying that He gave me a heart to accept whatever it should be, and yeah, He did. All in all, it was good meeting up with friends again and my results have been a blessing by God so I'm not complaining. Not that it's the first anyway.

I think God wanted to assure me that the results were by His hand so He gave me an A- for Biology. Yeah... BIOLOGY! I created history in the Lim family that day by getting an A for Bio! It was a miracle equivalent to Moses parting the Red Sea and water changed into wine! In conclusion, you don't have to come and comfort me about not getting straights alright? I really don't mind it... because my BIO GOT A! I'm now a living proof that miracles happen. So there you go, miracle-skeptics!

Do You Know...

Paul Scholes? The guy Hwei mentioned in her blog? Well, he is really bad at tackling even though he can score a lot of goals. The world seems to agree on that too.

One more chance, ref? Please??

Here are some of the articles written by professionals about him.

Taken from Team of the Decade

...One of the best passers in the game, his eye for the crucial ball put him at the centre of United's attacking play and his goalscoring ability (either from one of his trademark volleys, or a well-timed run into the box) made him a legend at Old Trafford. His awareness on the ball, vision and technique make up for a chronic lack of tackling ability.

This taken from Team of the Week

...Using all the 35-years of experience in that flame-red noggin of his, Scholes sidestepped Jody Craddock before firing an unstoppable shot into the bottom corner. His all-round game - apart from his tackling, of course - was exemplary.

And this, from his Profile

...Though he still can't tackle - he never could - he is still a vital cog at United and will be sorely missed when he eventually decides to hang up his boots.

The best part is, they always talk about his achievements and superb skills before mentioning his tackling ability.

Heck, if I can't tackle, I'll punch!
